Neuro-linguistics programming is the means through which the personal effectiveness is improved in certain social settings to achieve a specific goal. It helps individuals learn the ways through which they can better influence the people around them while communication processes.

The Neuro-linguistics programming works to make individual self aware by letting him understand and know his limitations and abilities in comparison to certain objectives of life. It addresses the problems of individuals by using various psychological and linguistic tools.

It can not provide a person with financial resources to do certain tasks rather it aims at providing a person with knowledge about self and making him able to do something which he otherwise could not do. It directs positive and effective behaviors and attitudes which help us in achieving a goal. Let us take the example of a student who has a learning disorder, he sits in the class and carefully listens to his teacher.

His aim is to get good scores in all the subjects and he works hard in this regard. While he is listening to his teacher most of the times he perceives the meaning of the words which are entirely different from what is communicated by the teacher. The meaning which he has perceived will surely affect what he will write in the exam. Hence he passes in low grades. This is discouraging for him indeed. His aim of life is to secure good grades but it is hindered by his inability to perceive the meanings of language accurately. It is also possible that he finds unable to understand most of the things taught in the class due to problem of learning.

Another possibility is that a student finds writing section of the studies and exams impossible while attempts good while he is on viva voice. All such issues which are hindering the achievement of certain goals would be addressed by the Neuro-linguistics programming. After the therapy a person would be better able to cope with the situation which was a problem previously. So the Neuro-linguistics programming is aimed at making individuals productive for the society as well as at making them achieve personal goals which are restricted by personal deficiencies.

The mental disorders and illnesses are better tackled when Neuro-linguistics programming is used by the therapists. But it is only useful when the patient is motivated to come out of the discouraging social and personal situations.
